I've blacked-out my website in support of others protesting the US Government's SOPA/PIPA legislation. I think the bills as written are foolish and will kill the the internet we know and love. Not only will they not achieve their goals of thwarting piracy online, they will ultimately poison the participatory culture that has made the internet the powerful tool for communication, transparency and democracy that it is right now. My website will stay blacked-out until these bills are defeated or altered such that they meet my standard of fairness by protecting my rights as much as the well-funded self interests who think their so-called intellectual property is at risk. Fortunately it looks like SOPA will not be passed but PIPA is still in contention. Contact your senator and tell them not to vote for it.
